23rd March 2019
at the
Royal Wootton Bassett Memorial Hall.
Our speaker will be Sara Price
Dealers: Little British Fabric Shop and Mark Pickles Sewing Studio (Bath)
Charities we will be supporting: CPRS (UK) and Hearing Dogs for the Deaf
On the 1st of November, as part of the 175th Anniversary celebrations, members of our Poppydown Quilters’ Group met with Caroline Black, Project Co-ordinator and Ian Surtees, Steam’s Income Generation Manager to hand over the Anniversary Banner made by ladies from our Group:
The day was a great success. We all enjoyed listening to our speaker Maryke Phillips and seeing samples of her work.
We raised £770 for Brighter Futures at Great Western Hospital and there were some very happy raffle winners!
Thank you to all the ladies who came to our sewing day back in March 2015. It was a very enjoyable day and Sally’s talk and her quilts were fantastic.
We made a grand total of 1000 for the three Charities, Air Ambulance, Head ways and Fun 4 all, which is a great amount!!
These days are hard work to make it a good day for you all, so a very big thank you to the girls who made it happen, whether it was making a cake, donating books and magazines, sewing Aprons and making tombola prizes.
So many thanks to everyone who helped in anyway to make it a lovely day for all to enjoy. Here are a few photos of the cheques being presented to Headways and Fun-4- All at our Monday afternoon meeting.
